NEW 2022 Mercedes EQE Revealed
Do not worry the Mercedes-Benz E Class is not going anywhere for the time being. The new EQE is more of an all-electric alternative to the internal combustion saloon. It is Mercedes latest addition to its ‘EQ’ range, and it joins the likes of the EQA, EQB, EQC and EQS. Speaking of the EQS, the EQE has pinched a lot of the tech from its slightly bigger sibling. Judging from the proposed range statistics, the EQE could be a worthy contender to the Tesla Model S. Time will soon tell.

Design, performance, and range
There isn’t really much to write about the design of the EQS, picture an EQS but a tad smaller. That is pretty much the story of the EQE. A more compact and affordable EQS. The front headlights are thicker in comparison but the roofline, trim and curved doors look almost identical to the EQS. More of the same with the rear design. The rear brake lights and bumper trim looked to be plucked straight off the EQE’s larger counterpart.
As for range and performance. Mercedes state the 90kWh battery featured in the EQE 350 model will get up to 410 miles of range. Now if we are to believe that off face value, this figure is 50 Miles more than the Tesla Model 3 long range and 5 miles more than the Model S. Additionally, the EQE comes equipped with 170kW fast charging capabilities, which can get 155 miles in just 15 minutes.
We have not got much info regarding the actual performance of the EQE 350. What is confirmed is that the 350 will feature a single motor that kicks out 292hp and 530Nm of torque. All this power and torque will be delivered to the rear wheels. There is no doubt an AMG model will be in the works too.
Infotainment and Tech
As standard, the EQE will come with a dual-screen infotainment system. Very similar to the entry-level EQS. The dual screens feature a 12.3-inch driver display and a 13-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. However, if you are willing to splash a little extra you can upgrade to the ‘Hyperscreen’ which features two 12.3-inch driver displays, one for the driver and one for the passenger. You will also get treated to a massive 17.7-inch touchscreen in the middle. Fancy stuff.
More stolen tech from the EQS includes the latest ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice recognition. Additionally, you can connect the vehicle to the smart tech in your home. The EQE is compatible with over-the-air updates, you can receive and install updates without bringing the car back to the dealership.
Prices are yet to be announced, so for the time being we are unable to offer leasing rates. Once we receive rates on the EQE Saloon we will be sure to let you know!
