COVID-19 – Coronavirus FAQ’s

There is no escaping the uncertainty that clouds every one of our heads during this crisis:

COVID-19 has been labelled a Pandemic and described as “the worst public health crisis for a generation”. Experts are working hard to provide answers and solutions to this rapidly changing situation and vital decisions are being made on a day by day basis to give everyone the information and clarity they need to get through this.

We at Applied Leasing Ltd have been in the Vehicle Leasing Business for 30 years: we have helped our customers through a lot of crises over the years and we have put together this Q&A to help you through this one too.

Please be aware that these answers are subject to change on a day to day basis.

Q: Is Applied Leasing Ltd staying open through the coronavirus outbreak?

A: We are doing everything in our power to keep our business open and make sure our customers are taken care of whilst keeping our employees safe. We have organised provisions so our employees can work from home, safely and securely, and we are taking every precaution to make sure we adhere to the Governments Guidelines. For more information please see https://blog.appliedleasing.co.uk/covid-19-update-from-applied-leasing/

Q: Can I order a new vehicle during the outbreak?

A: You can find, select, apply for finance and order your new vehicle right from the comfort of your own home using our interactive website. You can even sign paperwork electronically so there is no need to be in close contact with any of our staff members.

There are plenty of “In Stock” vehicles to choose from; if you are flexible on the colour or specification of your vehicle, it will be possible to have your new vehicle delivered in just a few short weeks.

Just look for the “IN STOCK” button on our website. https://www.appliedleasing.co.uk/car-leasing

Factory Orders may be adversely affected.

As you may be aware there have been numerous Worldwide factory closures and suspensions due to the outbreak of COVID-19. This will have a roll-on effect when it comes to factory ordered vehicles – waiting times may be extended.

Rest assured we will do everything we can to keep you updated on your vehicles progress during these uncertain times.

Q: My lease is up for renewal, what can I do?

A: At the moment it is still possible to hand back your vehicle as normal but if you have any symptoms or are self-isolating then please cancel and rearrange your collection for another time.

You can also extend your lease depending on your finance provider. They will normally offer one of 2 options:

1)     to formally extend your lease by 3 months or more, this will require a quote and a new contract.

2)     to informally extend your lease on a short-term rolling contract. These typically are only for a short period and the finance provider can claim the vehicle back at any time.

Please speak to our customer service team or your salesperson if you require more details or a quote.

Q: I have a current lease but cannot afford the monthly repayments, what should I do?

A: These are very uncertain and worrying times for everyone. We can seek comfort in the fact Government Officials have said they will do “whatever it takes” and the BVRLA are continuously working with policymakers in the government, to keep them up to date with the impact COVID-19 virus has on our sector, and has stated the vehicle rental and leasing sector is vital in maintaining the essential movement of goods, people and services during the outbreak.

If you are in financial difficulty or have any concerns regarding your repayments, we advise that you contact your Finance Provider as soon as possible.

As you know this situation is rapidly changing – Government Guidelines and rulings are changing day by day and we hope to keep our customers up to date with the latest information, so if you have any questions or worries please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 525 209.
